Gary R. Wade is an Associate Justice on the Tennessee Supreme Court.

Biography

Justice Wade was born May 31, 1948, in Knox County, TN. He is married to Sandra Franklin Wade, and has three children: Zachary, Katherine, and Elizabeth. He graduated cum laude from the University of Tennessee in 1970, and University of Tennessee College of Law in 1973.

Legal Career

After being engaged in the private practice of law from 1973-1987, he was appointed to Tennessee Court of Criminal Appeals 1987, elected 1988, reelected 1990, 1998 and 2006; served as Presiding Judge of the Court of Criminal Appeals, 1998-2006; and appointed to the Tennessee Supreme Court effective September 1, 2006.
