Charles P. Dykman is a justice on the Wisconsin Courts of Appeal (District IV).

Biography
Judge Dykman earned both his bachelors (1961)and his J.D. (1965) from the University of Wisconsin at Madison.
Legal Career
Judge Dykman currently serves as Appellate Court Judge, District IV Court of Appeals, having held that position since 1978. Prior to joining the Court of Appeal he acted as Presiding Judge from 1996 to 2001, and as an Attorney in private practice from 1965-78.
2004 Election
Justice Dykman ran unopposed as an incumbent in the Spring General Election of 2004 and won with 99.58% of the vote.[1]
Awards, Memberships and Civic Activities
Charles Dykman has served on the Judicial Conference Executive Committee, and as a member of the Commission on Judicial Elections and Ethics.[2]

On the Issues
- In a decision by Judge Dykman on 7/29/04, the court of appeals affirmed a lower court ruling that held that a municipality is liable to subcontractors for its failure to ensure that a general contractor obtained proper bonding. In the case in question, the Village of Readstown failed to ensure that a general contractor working on a public works project was properly bonded; when the general contractor failed to pay the subcontractors, the subs successfully sued the Village to recover the unpaid sums.[3]
