Charles Diers is a lay member of the Nebraska Judicial Qualifications Commission which is charged in selecting Supreme Court Justices, and other judicial vacancies in the State of Nebraska.

Background

Diers is the Chairman and CEO of Diers Ford, Lincoln, Mercury in Fremont, Nebraska Northwest of the Omaha Region. The Dealership is one of the oldest Ford Dealerships in the United States being in exsistence since 1938. At Age 70, Diers is still active within the Dealership as it has been a successful family based business in Eastern Nebraska.

Judicial Qualifications Commission

On March 29, 2004 Diers was appointed by Nebraska Republican Governor Mike Johanns to serve on the Judicial Qualifications Commission as one of three public citizens to serve on the commission. His Term expires on March 31, 2009.

Other Professional Memberships

Currently, Diers and his wife, Mary Lou, are co-chairs for the Fremont Area United Way annual campaign drive.

Diers has also served on the Fremont Family YMCA Board of Directors - a seat that his son, Chuck, holds. Diers was also a founding member of the Fremont Area Community Foundation Board of Directors, has served on the Midland Lutheran College Board of Trustees and has served on the Nebraskans For Public Television Board of Directors.

He has served as a director of the Nebraska New Car Dealers Association and on the Ford Motor Company’s Dealer Governmental Affairs Committee.

Diers also serves on the Archdiocese of Omaha's Committee For Development along with a number of subcommittees serving the Archdiocese of Omaha.
